PROM PROJECT 2026 – EFN

The Education Foundation of Niagara is hosting their annual Prom Project Niagara on Saturday, May 9 (10:00 AM–3:00 PM). Offering free formal wear to students graduating from grades 6, 8 or 12 and secondary students attending prom, helping reduce financial barriers so they can fully participate in these important milestone events. Staff are encouraged to support students with sign-up and share this opportunity within their school community!  

Date and time:

• Saturday, May 9, 2026
• 10:00am-3:00pm

Locations:

• St. Catharines Collegiate – registration required with timeslot selection; includes a sensory-friendly shopping time with no music and no crowds (8:00–9:30 AM). Walk-ins may be accommodated case-by-case (wait times not guaranteed).
• Stevensville Memorial Hall (hosted by the Kinette Club of Fort Erie) – registration requested (no timeslots); walk-ins accepted.

Transportation: Free for both locations through Switzer-Carty (opt-in during registration)

• Registration is open to grade 6, 8 and 12 graduates and secondary students attending prom 
• Open until May 1 at 4:00 PM or until full
• Confirmation email (to email address provided at registration) will be sent on May 6 with timeslot and transportation details (if applicable)
• Please ensure the most appropriate contact email is used (i.e. student, staff member, parent/guardian)

Volunteers and donations: 

• New/gently used formal wear donations are accepted until April 30 at Pen Centre Guest Services and select Pen Financial branches (Fort Erie, Niagara Falls, Fonthill and St. Catharines). If these locations are not accessible, please contact efn@dsbn.org for alternate drop-off arrangements.
• Click here to sign up to volunteer with set up and/or event day! This event is powered by volunteers!
• Secondary student volunteers can also support setup, takedown, and donation sorting in advance of the event.

Join us for a fun afternoon of progressive euchre with the chance to win cash prizes. Adding to the fun will be a penny raffle table and a 50/50 draw. Drinks will be available at the cash bar. Light snacks available for purchase. This is a cash only event and debit/credit cards will not be accepted.

Saturday October 18, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Doors open at 12:00 p.m., games start promptly at 1:00 p.m. Merriton Legion, 2 Chestnut Street E, St. Catharines, ON. 

Every purchase supports CI student programs at the St. Catharines Collegiate, like the " Food Pantry." The Food Pantry provides student breakfast and lunch meal options. 

Donations of nonperishable food items for the "Food Pantry" is greatly appreciated and will be accepted at the door, such as cereals, canned soups, granola bars, cup of noodles and canned ready to eat pasta. 

There are no mandatory ticket fees. Donations to Zeffy are voluntary and the amount can be changed to zero. Please check your junk mail file for your receipt.  This event is limited to attendees aged 19+. Tickets are available on a first come first served basis. Ticket sales end if sold out.

Congratulations to Amairah Gayle,  a grade 10 St. Catharines Collegiate student on amazing OFSAA double GOLD wins in Toronto last weekend!

Amairah competed in the Women High Jump Junior with a winning jump of 1.70m.  She also placed first in the Women Long Jump Junior with a jump of 5.77m.    She is the only DSBN student to win 2 GOLD medals.  Amairah will be recognized by the Director at the June Board meeting.

Thank you to our coaches for your effort, encouragement and dedication throughout the season.

Pasta Dinner Alumni Fundraiser

Collegiate has some exciting news!  

Kadmiel and Sean were selected to represent Collegiate in the Bob Miller Classic All-Star basketball game this year! 

Both Sean and Kadmiel have worked so hard during their time at Collegiate on improving their basketball skills, and both are amazing representatives for Collegiate!

Our hope is that we will be able to get staff and students out to the games to support them!
