St. Catharines Collegiate - Morning Announcements

ANNOUNCEMENTS: September 11, 2026 - Friday

We begin this gathering by acknowledging the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum agreement. Today this gathering place is home to many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples and acknowledging reminds us that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous people.

Lockers are assigned by your homeroom teacher. You must have a combination lock (key locks are strongly discouraged). Lockers can not be shared, every student must have their own locker. If you do not have a period 1 class, please come to the main office for locker assignment.

To any students that are bringing bicycles to school, there are bike racks in front of the school. Please make sure that you lock up your bike! Bikes, scooters etc can not be kept inside the school.

Drama Club will begin Wednesday Sept. 16th after school in the auditorium. No experience is necessary. See Ms. McAllister for details

Attention Saints, Cheer is back! The cheer team is looking for new members for this season. Our first meeting is Monday, September 14 in the small gym beside the fitness centre from 2:30-3:30. Anyone is welcome to join. Make sure to bring your school spirit! See Ms. Mitchell in room 120 with any questions.

Go to the QR code posted outside the Fitness Centre or inside the Main Office.
Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code. Tap the link that appears on your phone to open the quiz. Complete the quiz. Once you’ve finished, let Coach White know. They’ll give you the next instructions for getting access to the Fitness Centre.

The Collegiate Golf Team is now welcoming new members for the upcoming season. Students with any level of experience — from high‑handicap golfers to advanced players — are encouraged to participate.

Collegiate Football starts their 102^nd season this week. There is practice today after school. No experience necessary - there is a position for everybody! Grade 9 students are particularly welcome! If you have any questions, come see Coach Greene.

1. This is a message for all grade 9 students! The Grade 9 day trip to Balls Falls is happening on Friday, September 25th. Please hand in your signed blue permission form to the guidance office in room 106. If you didn't receive a form, please ask your period 1 teacher or grab a form from guidance. Thank you!

2. This is a message to grade 11 and 12 students who are thinking of heading to college. The College Information Program is happening on Sept 28th. This is a chance to chat with representatives from each of Ontario's colleges. Space is limited. Please pick up your green permission form in guidance, get is signed and return to guidance. Priority will do go students who are graduating this year.

Attention all Girl's basketball players. We will be starting tryouts for our girl's basketball team on Wednesday, September 16 after school in the main gym. Sign up forms are in the gym hallway. Science and Math help will be running in room 302 (near the auditorium on the third floor). If you're looking for a quiet space to get some work done or need support with your classes, come on out and Ms. DeRoos, Ms. Teal and Mr. Harris would be happy to help.

ESL TRIP TODAY: ESL students who submitted their forms for today's trip will be leaving for the Living Campus today at 9 AM! Students, please leave your class by 8:50 AM so that we can gather and be ready to leave for the trip at 9:00 AM - prompt!

Don’t forget to bring: Your water bottle and appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather and the hike.

Please note that we will not be making timetable changes at this time. If you wish to sign up for a timetable change, please complete the Google form to get yourself in the virtual line. You can find the link posted in the guidance office or on Collegiate's website. Please follow the timetable you have and wait patiently to be called down to Guidance. Be sure to attend the classes on your timetable! The exception to this is that you have already earned the credit you are currently scheduled in.
