ANNOUNCEMENTS: September 29, 2026 - Tuesday

Today is ROWAN'S LAW DAY. Rowan Stringer was a 17-year old athlete who is believed to have experienced three concussions over six days while playing rugby. She had a concussion but didn't know her brain needed time to heal. Neither did her parents, teachers or coaches. Rowan's Law was established to honour her memory and bring awareness to concussions and concussion safety.

We are wearing purple today to honour ROWAN and bring awareness to concussion and concussion safety.

Ms. Pietz’s class is presenting a concussion awareness workshop in the Library during period 1 today. We look forward to welcoming classes.

Attention Girls Flag Football Players!

For all students who have signed up for the St. Catharines Collegiate Girls Flag Football Team, there will be a team meeting today at lunch in Room 147.

Drama Club will be taking place this Wednesday and Thursday in the auditorium from 2:15 until 4:00. Please meet in the auditorium. New members are welcome. Attention students! As we all settle into the new school year, looking for a great spot to unwind at lunch? Head over to the Makerspace! It’s a wonderful, quiet space to eat your lunch, chill out, and meet new friends. We’ve got creative supplies ready to go, awesome card and board games, puzzles, and a giant mandala for some Zen coloring.
You can find us right at the end of the math hall, just follow the sign in the stairwell. We’re typically open from 11:00 to 11:30 AM, so keep an ear on the daily announcements for any timing updates. Come on by and check it out!

Mr. White would like to congratulate Dante Contonis and Carter Westveer on their strong performances at yesterday's Zone 4 Golf Tournament held at Sawmill Golf Course. Facing a field of more experienced golfers on a very challenging course, both Dante and Carter competed with outstanding poise, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day. Their performances reflected not only their golfing abilities but also their positive attitudes and resilience under pressure. Most importantly, both athletes represented Collegiate with great character and pride. We are extremely proud of the way they conducted themselves both on and off the course. Congratulations, Dante and Carter, on an excellent showing!

Tomorrow, September 30, during lunch, honouring the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, we will be screening a documentary, Warrior Up in the auditorium. This documentary features 17-year-old Kya Steinbach-Parker, a determined educational activist. She successfully lobbied for an Indigenous history class in her high school in Fort Erie, Ontario; but her ultimate goal is to help her province achieve all the Truth and Reconciliation’s (TRC) Calls to Action around education. Join us during lunch! Reminder that there is no food or drink allowed in the auditorium

ANNOUNCEMENTS: September 28, 2026 - Monday

We begin this gathering by acknowledging the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum agreement. Today this gathering place is home to many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples and acknowledging reminds us that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous people.
